On the Border of Peace: Great Beauty Awakens a World in Flames

From 8 November 2025 to 8 February 2026, Gorizia hosts the exhibition On the Border of Peace, offering a journey through art, peace, and contemplation.

The exhibition On the Border of Peace: Great Beauty Awakens a World in Flames opens on Saturday 8 November 2025 in the evocative setting of San Carlo Church and the Seminary Palace in Gorizia, and runs until 8 February 2026. The itinerary features eleven artworks forming “stations of the spirit”, inviting visitors to reflect and engage with the beauty of sculpture and painting.

The exhibition draws inspiration from some of the greatest masters in art history, including Canova, Rodin, Rubens, Gauguin, Raffaello, and Manzù, and prominently features Picasso’s Guernica (1955 cartoon). Each artwork provides a unique insight into the human experience, offering a journey through time, art, and contemplation on peace and conflict.

Gorizia, once a city of frontiers, becomes a stage for art as a universal language, where beauty speaks louder than conflict and darkness.

Opening hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00–19:00. Admission is free.
