On 11 Oct 2025, Nova Gorica comes alive with HOPSCOTCH 2025 – artists from three countries create lasting street art across the city.
HOPSCOTCH 2025
This autumn, Nova Gorica once again embraces colour and creativity through HOPSCOTCH 2025, a project by Associazione Macross in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute in Ljubljana. Dedicated to urban art and the regeneration of public space, the project connects emerging and established artists from both sides of the border, transforming everyday spaces into canvases of shared expression.
On 11 October 2025, an Ex tempore event will bring together 10–12 street artists from Slovenia, Italy, and the USA. They will create artworks along Cesta IX. Korpusa (Solkan) and the cycling underpass on Vojkova Cesta, turning the area into a lively open-air gallery.
A highlight of the day will be the mural by Davide Comelli, titled “Movement and Rhythm”, celebrating the energy, motion, and cultural flow that define this cross-border city.
Although the artists will be painting only on 11 October, their works will remain for everyone to enjoy afterwards, offering a lasting trace of creativity in Nova Gorica’s urban landscape.
Hopscotch 2025 builds on previous editions, including the ONELAND mural by Leonardo Didic (SLO) and Gregor Persoglia (IT), reinforcing the role of urban art as a tool for regeneration, connection, and cultural dialogue within the European Capital of Culture GO! 2025.
