Xcenter with exhibitions and workshops from the official GO! 2025 programme

On Europe Day, 9 May, GO! 2025, together with Xcenter and the whole of Slovenia, celebrates the 20th anniversary of Slovenia becoming a full member of the EU. Three exhibition openings and the first of a series of fermentation workshops took place at Xcenter on this day. As the day was packed with a programme all over Nova Gorica and you may have missed some of the events, we kindly invite you to visit us again, namely:

As the day was packed with a programme all over Nova Gorica and you may have missed some of the events, we kindly invite you to visit us again, namely:  

On the ground floor – two exhibitions of the GO! 2025 PostMobility project. Besides The Solar Share project by the Disnovation.org research collective, we also have the project by students of the School of Humanities of the University of Nova Gorica and the School of Arts of the University of Nova Gorica exhibited here, created in the interdisciplinary course of “Avant-Garde and Experiment”. While the first exhibition works at the intersection between contemporary art, activism, research, and hacking, the second explores the art and strategies of the avant-gardes of the 20th and 21st century through the concept of crisis.  

There is also the Perperuna exhibition on the first floor, available until the end of the month, which is an art project by Nastja Ambrožič and Efa Di intertwining ancient Slavic customs and modern science into an interactive ritual. As part of the same GO! project, the Future Food Lab, FERMENTARIUM workshops are taking place every Thursday until 25 June. You can learn the basics of fermenting fruit and vegetables under the guidance of Erika Gioahin until the end of May, and in June Ana Smredu will be with you to ferment drinks, spreads and sauces. The first floor also hosts additional small exhibition; an exhibition of posters with sections from the official programme of the official programme of the European Capital of Culture 2025 Nova Gorica – Gorizia.
