Lace: Connecting Threads

The exhibition on bobbin lace compares the traditions of Gorizia and Cogne, exploring history, culture, and contemporary artisanal creations.
The exhibition presents the ancient art of bobbin lace through a comparison of two regions, Cogne and Gorizia, which, despite their geographical distance, share important historical and socio-cultural similarities. Contemporary Gorizia lace, developed from the study and the evolution of an ancient tradition, is showcased alongside the meticulous Dentelles de Cogne, a heritage passed down through memory, embodying cultural and identity values.
Both traditions originate from religious contexts – the Benedictine nuns of Cluny and the Ursulines – and share a borderland location that historically served as a crossroads for encounters and events. While rooted in the same heritage, each region has developed its own creative expression.
The exhibition is open until 1 December 2025, Tuesday to Saturday, 9:00-13:00 and 15:30-19:30. Free entry.
