XMOBIL from Xcenter & PostMobility: program book 2022–2025 documents the development and delivery of two intertwined project lines within the official GO! 2025 European Capital of Culture Nova Gorica–Gorizia programme: the xMobil mobile lab and the PostMobility research framework.
The book presents xMobil as an autonomous, solar-powered art–science platform built into a standard car trailer, designed for fieldwork and public-space production. Equipped with a robust solar system and a modular interior, it supports off-grid collaboration and prototyping, including the rainwater collection and filtration installation H2Offgrid Pluvio Collector, the eliXtove fire/solar cooking setup, and the speculative capsule Astrotop_X, and many other porjects and events. PostMobility contextualises this infrastructure through a series of media-art interventions, exhibitions, residencies, and research activities focused on reuse, transport, digital flows, and post-growth rethinking of movement within a cross-border landscape. The publication features an intro essay by Shintaro Miyazaki and texts by both projects' curator Peter Purg, and producer Mojca Stubelj Ars, as well as thematic vectors and formats, a participant overview, and a year-by-year programme record for 2022–2025. It foregrounds cross-border impact, community-based practice, and “resonant infrastructures” — ways in which art, science, and technology co-produce portable, adaptable prototypes of care, ecology, and public encounter. Rather than offering final answers, the book frames these projects as open, reversible models for imagining and practicing more responsible forms of mobility, co-creation, and living with fragile environments.
