We are delighted to announce that Dr. Kaja Širok—renowned expert in history, museology and heritage studies, and the lead curator of the EPIC project—has been re-elected to the Executive Board of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) for the 2025–2028 term.
ICOM is the world’s leading museum and cultural heritage organisation, bringing together more than 60,000 members from 139 countries. Dr. Širok’s re-election represents a significant international recognition of her work and her contribution to developing contemporary, inclusive and socially responsible museum practices.
Within the GO! 2025 programme, Dr. Širok leads the development and design of the permanent exhibition in the EPICenter, which will open at the end of this month and become a central interpretive space of the European Capital of Culture Nova Gorica – Gorizia 2025.
