This year's Nobel Prize in Literature goes to Hungarian writer László Krasznahorkai, author of the cult novel Sátántangó (1985), which inspired filmmaker Béla Tarr to make his unforgettable film of the same name—a monumental work that is still considered one of the pinnacles of world cinema.
This Sunday, as part of the cross-border film festival Tribute to a Vision, part of the official GO! 2025 programme, we will pay tribute to Béla Tarr at the House of cinema in Gorizia and at the same time celebrate this year's Nobel Prize for Literature – a tribute to two giants united by the visionary power of storytelling: https://www.poklonviziji.com/sl/festival/festival-2025/filmi-in-gostje/nagrajenec-2025/filmi-nagrajenec-2025-tarr/satantango/
The screening of Sátántangó will be introduced by Aljaž Škrlep.
In November, Béla Tarr will join us in person when Kinoatelje presents him with the Darko Bratina Award, which he is this year's laureate!
