Boundless Tastes for the first time in Nova Gorica and Gorizia!

The popular food and wine festival Gusti di Frontiera will, for the first time, take place in a cross-border format—expanding from Gorizia to Nova Gorica, along Kolodvorska pot, in Europe Square and its surroundings.

Join us for gourmet delights… with a touch of art!

Dinner with Catalan chef Sergi Palacín at Super Osmica

As part of the festival, Novo Gorica will be visited by a renowned Catalan chef, who will prepare an exclusive dinner together with Super Osmica, showcasing his culinary skills at the highest level and presenting the rich world of Catalan cuisine.

9.3015.30 Conference: The Climate Century of Gorizia, organized by the Kersnikova Institute

The conference will take a historical perspective on the predicted impact of climate change, which is expected to radically transform the flora and fauna of the Gorizia area, and with it our food and eating habits. The symposium aims to raise awareness of the challenges awaiting us soon. Part of the Laboratory for the Future of Food project, included in the official GO! 2025 programme.

We are dedicated to fermentation, freeze-drying, distillation, preparing herbal tinctures, kombucha, fermenting vegetables, brewing beer, researching mushrooms, etc. The event is an opportunity to taste the results of our practical research and get to know Bio/n as a hub of creative ideas for the food of the future.

Representatives of European Capitals of Culture will present their local cuisine: Chemnitz, Germany – 2025, Trenčín, Slovakia – 2026, Oulu, Finland – 2026, České Budějovice, Czech Republic – 2028.

Borderless Wine Route, Senza Meja Association

The Senza Meja Association is a cross-border association of young winemakers from the Goriška region in Slovenia and Italy, bringing together 25 members from both countries. They focus on environmentally friendly practices such as organic, regenerative, and biodynamic farming, and the production of high-quality wines using spontaneous fermentation and natural methods.

SPF project GO! Pasta

GO! Pasta is a cross-border project that highlights the existing heritage of filled pasta in Upper Friuli and the Gorizia region: cjarsoni and Idrija žlikrofi.

Reservoir Dogs

Reservoir Dogs is the largest craft brewery in Slovenia, a new story from Goriška about four enthusiastic brewers who have combined their passion for beer into a recognizable brand. Their creativity and boldness have earned them numerous domestic and international awards.​

The event will feature a selection of their most popular and award-winning beers, and visitors will be able to discover the rich flavors of the craft beer scene in Goriška.

The Tastes of Goriška

showcase the rich culinary and wine-making heritage of the Goriška region, where Mediterranean influences, Alpine freshness and the abundance of the Vipava Valley, the Collio and the Karst intertwine. It is the story of local producers, winemakers and chefs who combine tradition with modern approaches, offering visitors an authentic experience of the Soča Valley.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food

will present Slovenian cuisine, rooted in local ingredients, a rich tradition and respect for nature. A significant part of the programme will highlight Slovenian producers and processors, who will offer visitors local products carrying official quality labels. These labels guarantee the excellence and authenticity of Slovenian food while underlining the importance of short supply chains.

Vivi – the week of restaurant On the Road

Restaurant week is a celebration of cuisine, when the best Slovenian restaurants open their doors with top-quality menus at more affordable prices. It is an opportunity to discover the creativity of chefs and taste exquisite gastronomy.

This year, the culinary story will continue – 6-10 renowned Slovenian chefs will also present themselves at the Borderless Tastes event, where they will combine tradition, innovation and local ingredients into an unforgettable culinary experience.

12.00–18.00 Borderless fun for children

The Playground (RRA) and PlayX (Xcenter) will host creative workshops bringing back forgotten games of the past: skipping with elastic, chalk drawing, marbles, hopscotch, board games and many other activities that once delighted generations of children.

17:00, 17:45 Guided Tour of Europe Square

The EGTC GO is organizing a guided tour of the cross-border Europe square, its renovation was co-financed by the Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development of the Republic of Slovenia. Participants of the guided tour will learn everything about the renovation of the square and the surrounding area, led by the EGTC GO in collaboration with the municipalities of Nova Gorica and Gorizia and a group of Italian and Slovenian architects. The tour will also provide an opportunity to learn about the history of this symbolic square and to discover in the atmosphere of the first cross-border European Capital of Culture.

The guided tour will take place on Friday, 26 September, at 17:00 and 17:45. The meeting point will be in the atrium of the Nova Gorica Railway Station (Kolodvorska pot 6, Nova Gorica). The tour will be held in Slovenian language with simultaneous translation into Italian. It will be lead by architect Matej Fornazarič and EPICenter’s director Kaja Širok.

Over three days, visitors will be able to enjoy the creations of renowned chefs: Luka Košir (Grič Restaurant), Leon Pintarič (Rajh Inn), Mojmir Šiftar (PEN Klub), Gregor Jelnikar (Georgia Bistro), Martina Breznik (Hiša Raduha) and Ago Špacapan (Špacapan House). With dishes prepared from the finest Slovenian and local ingredients, they will highlight the close connection between quality produce, contemporary cuisine and the uniqueness of Slovenia’s landscapes. A special highlight will be the exclusive Chef’s Table, with limited seating and advance booking required, offering guests a carefully crafted fine dining experience – right on the street.
