GO! 2025 Crossroads of Europe: from Venice to Gorizia-Nova Gorica

Journey along the coastline from Venice to Gorizia and Nova Gorica, uncovering the history and Habsburg heritage of the first cross‑border European Capital of Culture.

From July 5 to September 28 (weekends and public holidays), this sustainable train tour runs from Venice to Gorizia and Nova Gorica – calling at San Donà (Jesolo), Latisana (Lignano), Cervignano A.G. (Grado) and Trieste Airport.

Arrival at Nova Gorica Transalpina station (9:39).
Morning exploration of the Transalpina hub, the Border Museum and the “Un binario per tre popoli” (One Track for Three Peoples) exhibition.
Guided city tour of Gorizia (10:30-12:30) and free lunch break.
Afternoon guided visit (from 16:30).
Return departure (18:40).

Organized by Regione FVG with PromoTurismoFVG, the municipalities of Gorizia and Nova Gorica, and the Museo Campo Marzio Association as part of GO! 2025, the itinerary highlights the Habsburg legacy and twentieth‑century history of Europe’s first cross‑border Capital of Culture.
