FVG Settanta

The Spazzapan Gallery in Gradisca d’Isonzo explores the vibrant visual arts scene of Friuli Venezia Giulia in the 1970s, a decade marked by experimentation, research and new artistic languages. The project brings artists, exhibitions and cultural networks of the period back into focus.

The Luigi Spazzapan Regional Gallery of Contemporary Art presents an extensive research and heritage project dedicated to visual arts in Friuli Venezia Giulia during the 1970s, reconstructing the region’s artistic landscape through artworks, archival documents and testimonies. The exhibition highlights a territory stretching from Trieste to Udine, Pordenone and the Isontino area, which became an important crossroads for artistic experimentation and avant-garde movements.

The project is the result of in-depth research carried out in cultural institutions and public and private archives, bringing back to light artists, exhibitions, events and networks that helped shape the region’s artistic identity.

The exhibition is part of a wider programme focusing on the creativity of the 1970s and is closely connected with the “Italia Settanta” exhibition in Gorizia.
