Conversation Evening: Jochmann and His Mill

A conversation evening on the Jochmann Mill and its role in the history of Ajdovščina.

Ines Beguš and Jožef Krečič will first present known interesting facts about the mill that existed in Ajdovščina even before Jochmann. Then, they will explore who Jochmann was, what knowledge he had, how he came to Ajdovščina and which innovations he brought, as well as the importance and position of Jochmann's mill through different periods, demonstrated by the parallel development of industry and entrepreneurship in Ajdovščina. Since the history is sometimes not as clear as we might think, the interlocutors will also open up many (yet unanswered) questions and research challenges that they have encountered when researching the past of the area.
