On the occasion of the ninety-seventh birthday of the late Professor Sergio Tavano (1928-2025) , on March 13, the State Archives of Gorizia and the Isontina State Library , in collaboration with the Palazzo Coronini Cronberg Foundation , are organizing a public meeting during which the donation of Sergio Tavano's personal archive and library will be presented, destined, respectively, to the two above-mentioned Institutes.

A gesture that attests to the esteem and consideration the illustrious scholar held for two state-owned institutions embodying the Gorizia culture he so thoroughly studied and promoted. It also serves as an opportunity to remember, a month after his passing, the special bond that united Sergio Tavano to Gorizia, its art, and its boundless history.

Along with greetings from family representatives, Luca Caburlotto , and Marco Plesnicar representing the Ministry of Culture, Alessandro Quinzi , curator of the Provincial Museums of Gorizia, will address the occasion. He will outline some of the key features of Tavano's decades-long scientific career.
Subsequently, each speaker will be given the opportunity to share a personal memory of the recently deceased intellectual.

On the occasion of the ninety-seventh birthday of the late Professor Sergio Tavano (1928-2025), on 13 March, theState Archives of Gorizia and the Isontina State Library, in collaboration with the Palazzo Coronini Cronberg Foundation, are organising a public meeting during which the donation of Sergio Tavano's personal archive and library, respectively destined for the two above-mentioned institutions, will be presented.

This gesture testifies to the esteem and consideration that the illustrious scholar nurtured towards two state presidia of the Gorizian culture that he studied and disseminated so much, and it becomes an occasion to recall, a month after his death, the special bond that united Sergio Tavano to Gorizia, to its art and its borderless history.

In addition to the greetings of the family representatives, Luca Caburlotto and Marco Plesnicar for the Ministry of Culture, Alessandro Quinzi, curator of the Provincial Museums of Gorizia, will speak about some of the characteristics of Tavano's decades of scientific activity.

Afterwards, each of the speakers will be offered the opportunity to share a personal memory centred on the figure of the recently deceased intellectual.
