Discover “7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.”, a fashion illustration exhibition by eight Slovenian artists: a journey through creativity and design within the industrial work system.

7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. / fashion illustration exhibition Fashion Illustration Exhibition by Eight Slovenian Designers: Vesna Gaberščik, Jelka Kermavner, Marta Hrovatin, Dragica Gantar, Lenka Fajfar, Eva Paulin, Slavica Rauter, and Zdenka Ščančar — artists who left their mark on the companies Almira, Rašica, Angora, Novoteks, Industrija usnja Vrhnika, Labod, and Mura. A leap back in time, when even creative work was subject to the rhythm of industrial working hours — from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Such a system treated fashion design as a production process that could be standardized and time-limited. Yet creative work, by its very nature, transcends these boundaries, evolving through processes that cannot be predetermined or confined to an eight-hour schedule. The problem of “creativity between 7:00 and 15:00” reveals the tension between institutional expectations and personal creative impulse. The fashion illustrations in the exhibition 7.00–15.00 reveal distinct artistic styles reflecting the designers’ individual poetics while also offering insight into the broader social and cultural context of their time. They are not merely technical bases for garment production but autonomous expressions of material richness, silhouette dynamics, and visual storytelling. The use of color, emphasized lines, and varied artistic techniques uncover the rich and multilayered visual language of fashion illustration. The exhibition 7.00–15.00 also highlights the importance of fashion illustration as a valuable historical resource. Through these works, we can trace the evolution of aesthetic directions, the influence of fashion trends, and innovative design approaches, as well as the development of Slovenia’s industrial heritage.
