Screening of the film The Last Slap by Matteo Oleotto

On Wednesday, March 25, at 8:30 p.m., at the Palazzo del Cinema in Gorizia, a special film screening will take place: the new feature film L'ultimo schiaffo will be previewed with Slovenian subtitles, in the presence of Italian director Matteo Oleotto.

Oleotto’s new film is not just a movie, but also one of the first outcomes of the screenwriting residencies organized as part of the European Capital of Culture GO! 2025. In this sense, the screening in Gorizia symbolically brings the story back to the very place where it was partly conceived—a space that is not a periphery, but a meeting point. The film is the result of close collaboration between Slovenia, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, and Italy; the main producer is Staragara IT in co-production with the Slovenian company SPOK Films. At the same time, it also marks an important milestone: the first co-production between the public broadcasters RTV Slovenija and RAI Cinema.
