When poetry takes shape: presentation of the PODIPO project book

On Saturday, 29 November 2025, at 17:00, the interactive book of the PODIPO project – Poetry of Dialects and the Landscape of Images – will be presented at the EPICenter in Nova Gorica.

The book is the result of the European project Interreg VI-A Italy–Slovenia 2021–2027, developed and implemented by the Slovenian partner Zavod Otok and the Italian cultural association Stazioni_Postaje from Topolò. At the heart of the project is poetry: poems by authors from Friuli Venezia Giulia and Slovenia were translated into dialects spoken daily by residents of care homes on both sides of the border. These same verses became the script for short films created by secondary school students and one primary school from the cross-border area.

Designed by Damjana Sušnik, the book brings together poetry, video content, audio interpretations, and photographic snapshots of this unique creative process, which symbolically united generations and cultures.

The event will feature project manager Lorena Pavlič (Zavod Otok) and workshop leader Antonella Bukovaz (Stazioni_Postaje), who will share insights into the making of the project. The evening will be enriched by musical performances from two exceptional vocalists – Slovenian singer Nika Solce and Friulian singer Elsa Martin – who will “translate” the poetry of Kosovel, Pasolini, Cappello and others into music through their unique interpretations.

All are warmly welcome!

The PODIPO project is funded by the European Union through the GO! 2025 Small Projects Fund under the Interreg VI-A Italy–Slovenia 2021–2027 Programme, managed by EGTC GO.
