A book that lasts a day

The Municipality of Gorizia takes part in the regional reading marathon "Un libro lungo un giorno", offering a rich program of intergenerational events across schools, nurseries, senior centers, and playrooms. Running from October 27 through early November, the initiative fosters community engagement and a shared love for storytelling.

Bridging Generations Through Books: Gorizia's Citywide Reading Program

Organized by local Educational and Social Services alongside Nati per Leggere volunteers, Gorizia's reading marathon brings together citizens of all ages through a citywide series of literary gatherings.

The festivities launch on Tuesday, October 27, featuring Roberto Covaz’s book presentation Alla luna and an interactive session at the Culot Senior Residence, before launching into full gear from October 30 onwards.

Children from municipal preschools and nurseries — including Villa San Giusto, L. Clemente, Tika Taka, Incantatempo, and Scoprire e Giocare — will join elderly residents and Centro Lenassi visitors for shared readings of Pinocchio classics and illustrated tales.

The marathon concludes on November 2 at Centro Zerosei with the kickoff of the 2026/2027 book lending service and the workshop Leggimi perché così stiamo insieme, establishing a year-round reading journey for local families.
