About the exhibition: The Aljaž Tower, an iconic symbol of Slovenian mountaineering and one of the most recognizable cultural monuments in Slovenia, celebrates its 130th anniversary in 2025. To mark this occasion, the Triglav National Park Public Institute, in cooperation with the Slovenian Alpine Museum, has prepared an exhibition of selected photographic stories that reflect its significance. Each photograph is a tribute to the symbol of unity, perseverance, and shared identity. The exhibition will be on display until 13 October 2025 during the opening hours of the Kobarid Tourist Information Centre. Due to its cultural, landscape, historical, and other exceptional values, it holds special significance for the Republic of Slovenia. Who built it, how and why? How was it maintained? What is its history and meaning? What does it represent to Slovenians today? And what should we do to preserve it? These are the questions explored in the documentary, which follows a team of conservators and restorers as they prepare a plan for the reconstruction of the Aljaž Tower.
