The Playground: My Border Can Be a Balloon

The event aims to show how children can easily transcend borders—either personal, social or cross-border—with their heartfulness, playfulness and creativity.
Through play, workshops and symbolic actions, children will learn about cooperation, sustainable thinking, the importance of the environment and friendship without prejudice. Together, they will—literally and symbolically—destroy the balloon barrier, surprise their parents with new acquired skills and show the world that children hold the key to a better future.
THE EVENT PROGRAMME
- Morning programme (9:30–13:00)—for pupils in the first three years of school:
- balloon creation,
- making juggling balls out of balloons and rice,
- learning the basics of juggling,
- writing thoughts on balloons,
- "Grain of Change" eco-workshop.
- The children will be divided into mixed Slovenian-Italian groups, where they will work together, help each other and proudly present what they have created.
- Afternoon programme (16:00–18:00)—for children, parents and the public:
- Presentations by children's groups,
- creative performances, environmental messages and children's thoughts,
- the highlight at 17:30: together with the children, we will destroy a symbolic border made of balloons, which will rise into the air as a reminder that borders, even if they are no longer visible, often remain in our thinking.
"The border may no longer be visible, but awareness of it should remind us not to re-establish it."
The event is environmentally friendly—the balloons will NOT be released into the nature. The organisers are providing all professional, logistical and material support. We sincerely hope that many children will attend the event, as we believe that together we can create an inspiring memory. Let's make breaking down boundaries for children—in a child-friendly manner!
