Almanac for Alternating Atmospheres

Almanac for Alternating Atmospheres is a research-based, multimedia art project that reimagines the traditional form of the farmer‘s almanac as a speculative cultural tool and interface for knowledge exchange in the era of climate crisis.

By investigating shifts in cultivation and migration of plants due to climate impact, the Almanac for Alternating Atmospheres project aims to facilitate connections among regions, traditions and local ecological knowledges. This artistic prototype imagines ecologically informed forms of forecasting. It is a tool for grounding meteorologies and for navigating as well as actively shaping our shifting planetary futures through biocultural relations. After some workshops and public events, the project will be exhibited in a multimedia installation at Xcenter in Nova Gorica, opening the cross-border ReThinkable festival of transformative economies.
