For generations, the Drius family has lovingly cultivated vines in the far north-eastern corner of Italy, in the renowned DOC Collio and DOC Isonzo areas of Friuli Venezia Giulia. This region has been devoted to viticulture for centuries, producing some extraordinary wines.
In 1989 the company chose to focus on the production and sale of fine quality wines by the bottle, which marked a new stage in its history. Today, Mauro together with his wife Nadia and their children Denis, Erika and Valentina are all actively involved in running the family business, maintaining its agricultural tradition but with their sights set firmly on a sustainable future.
The vineyards, certified by the Italian National Quality System for Integrated Production (SQNPI), are cultivated with full respect for the environment and sustainable agricultural practices. The grapes come exclusively from the winery’s 18 hectares of land, located in the DOC Collio and DOC Isonzo areas.
The Collio terroir, composed of alternating layers of sandstone and marl, produces elegant, dry and fragrant white wines. The Isonzo DOC, characterised by calcareous and alluvial soils, offers instead refined whites, full of freshness and sapidity, and structured and harmonious reds.
The wines are distinguished by a distinct elegance and personality and can be enjoyed in the spacious, bright tasting area made of sustainable materials.
