8 febbraio – Giornata della cultura europea
In addition to the opening ceremony, February will also be packed with cultural events. On 3 February, we will celebrate the anniversary of the birth of Gorizia’s Nora Gregor with a day-long event. Her remarkable career as an actress is also featured in the book Nostro cine quotidiano / Naš vsakdanji kino (Our Everyday Cinema, 2001) by Sandro Scandolara, which will be available to Slovenian readers (in a Slovenian-Italian edition) as part of the ECoC from January onwards. On 4 February, the Museum Collection Miren will reopen in the Miren Cemetery building, and you are welcome to visit the key locations of the ECoC conurbation using the handy BulevAR app. The Dodecalogy 1972–1983 by Tomi Janežič is in full swing, with two of the twelve performances already available for viewing in February. The ZRC SAZU Research Station lecture and talk series continues, registrations are open for the Smuggling Tour—an adventurous journey back in time to the days of smuggling of all kinds across the border. The capital now also boasts its own official cookies and board game.
