Arrest Nathan Never

Arrest Nathan Never

Nathan Never will explore the Gorizias of the future!

On Thursday, 10 July 2025, at 18:30 in Gorizia, the first of two special issues of a science fiction comic will be presented, featuring the main character—former police officer Nathan Never—as he explores the Gorizias of the future. This autumn, some of the issues from the renowned series will be published in Slovene, in collaboration with ZRC SAZU.

In no fewer than two issues of the science fiction comic Nathan Never, published by Sergio Bonelli Editore, the main character finds himself in the Gorizia(s) of the future. The presentation will feature issue no. 409, titled Arrestate Nathan Never (Arrest Nathan Never), and the story continues in the following issue, no. 410, titled Il tesoro di Aquileia (The Treasure of Aquileia).

What will the Gorizias of the future look like? That was the very question asked by illustrator Romeo Toffanetti and scriptwriter Bepi Vigna. "Gorizia is different, but still very much... Gorizia," Toffanetti told Primorski dnevnik. He is the artist behind the illustrations in these special issues. In the comic, readers will recognize familiar landmarks such as Gorizia Castle, the Trgovski dom, the post office building on Oberdan Street, Eda Center, the Rusjan Brothers Monument, and the Co-Cathedral in Nova Gorica. The story will also take us through Ljubljana (New Ljubljana) and Bled.
