23rd Enrico Mercatali International Classical Guitar Festival

The 23rd Enrico Mercatali International Classical Guitar Festival will make Gorizia the international capital of classical guitar with a host of prestigious events, from Saturday 9th to Sunday 17th May.

Conceived and organized by the Mauro Giuliani Guitar Center association of Gorizia, the event is made possible thanks to the valuable support of the Region (Department of Cultural Activities and Department of Tourism), the Cassa di Risparmio di Gorizia Foundation, the Municipality of Gorizia, the Municipality of Cormons, and the Municipality of Bale-Valle (Croatia), with the patronage of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities - Department of Entertainment.

The festival presentation and the first event will take place on Saturday, May 9th at 6 pm in the concert hall of Palazzo De Grazia, at Via Oberdan 15.

The occasion will also see the inauguration of the group watercolor exhibition titled "The Sounds of the Forest," curated by students of painter Marina Legovini. This will be followed by a concert by the Gorizia Guitar Orchestra, featuring soloists Maria Francesca Arcidiacono, Riccardo Bertossa, Giulia Liberalato, and Mario Milosa. The evening will be dedicated to the composer Antonio Vivaldi and will include three of his most famous concertos.
