Lead partner: GONG Gallery.
Other partners: Photon Gallery.
Venue: tunnel, GONG Gallery, EPIC.
The project of a "dispersed gallery" encompasses two initiatives exploring the theme of borders and borderlessness: a spatial-sound installation in a bicycle tunnel near the border and an international group photography exhibition, provisionally titled Borders, to be showcased in two exhibition spaces, EPIC and the GONG Gallery.
The theme is rooted in the Gorizia region and its post-war demarcation history, but it extends beyond the physical border to examine the borderland through social, status, psychological, gender, and philosophical lenses. The challenges posed by the pandemic, migration issues, and the ongoing war at Europe’s eastern and southern borders present significant obstacles for both artists and exhibition designers. The project encourages a broader understanding of borders and borderlands, subtly engaging with contemporary issues and current events.
