Lis Fadis
Lis Fadis, a historic winery of the Colli Orientali del Friuli, has four different production sites within the thriving Friuli Colli Orientali DOC area. The company has developed a viticulture that is intimately linked to the concept of terroir, which in this area is essentially influenced by the ponca, an alternation of marl and sandstone with a very high limestone content.
Lis Fadis - which in local dialect means The Fairies - are indeed the main characters of the fairy tales we can find in books. And these books can be likened to the stone that makes up the subsoil of our vineyards, since the many pages resemble the alternating layers of marl and sandstone that make up the PONCA.
More than ever before, the wines produced become interpreters of the local area - lands that generate excellence, rich in biodiversity and ancient values. With their aromas and flavours, the white Lis Fadis wines offer an explosion of sensory nuances. Conceived as wines meant to age, they are best kept hidden away to be opened on a special day in the future! Red Lis Fadis wines are produced as true works of art. Each wine encloses a world of love and care for the land. The reds, too, are best left to age gently, as time serves them well and we learn to be patient if we want the best!
Lis Fadis wines are best preserved in a cellar carved into the rock, which creates for all visitors an almost medieval atmosphere.
