We are a family-run winery from Štanjel in the Karst. We produce quality wines and sparkling wines. Guests can enjoy tastings, estate experiences, and stays with vineyard views.

We are a family-run winery located in Štanjel, in the Karst region. 

Our wines are made from local grape varieties such as refošk, malvasia, pinot grigio, chardonnay, and vitovska grganja. 

The vines grow in the distinctive red soil known as terra rossa, whose rich mineral composition and raw karst character give our wines a unique and expressive identity. 

We are proud that our winery also produces red sparkling wine made from teran – a rare specialty, with fewer than ten producers of this type of wine in the world. 

Despite our small size, through perseverance and a deep love for nature, we have become one of the leading wineries in the Karst wine region, which covers just over 600 hectares of vineyards. 

Ivo Kobal began his journey in viticulture at the age of sixteen, while attending agricultural school in Nova Gorica. After his father Jože was injured, he took over the winemaking on the estate in 1983 and began writing a new chapter in the family’s story. 

Together with his wife Ana and their children Lucija, Lenart, Gaber, and Amadej, we now proudly present eleven different wines and sparkling wines, as well as our unique brandy, while offering guests unforgettable experiences at our estate. 

Our guests can also relax in a modern, fully equipped apartment located just below the medieval village of Štanjel, offering breathtaking views of the family vineyards. 

In addition to accommodation, we offer guided tastings of our wines and sparkling wines, accompanied by homemade Karst cold cuts – a deeper experience of our craft, our flavors, and our landscape.
