Planina celebrates the Pinela wine, a grape variety from the Vipava Valley. With tastings, local dishes, and walks through the vineyards: a unique experience of tradition, nature, and gastronomy.
Socializing with Pinela wine A feast of home wines & local dishes, 10. 4. 2026Pinela is an old grape variety that today can be found only in the Vipava Valley. Among the traditional local varieties that winemakers successfully preserve here—including the indigenous variety Zelen—Pinela holds a truly special place. This delicate vine needs the right site and a dedicated grower, and it has found ideal growing conditions and true winemakers’ passion on Planina above Ajdovščina. This ancient hilltop village, spread across several fertile slopes, is also known as the heart of Vipava Pinela production. In honour of this distinctive, wonderfully drinkable white wine, Planina has hosted a celebration for more than a decade, known as “Druženje s pinelo” (Socializing with Pinela).
For this 20th anniversary edition, the festival is moving to a new venue and a new date—rather than Easter Monday, we’ll be enjoying Pìnela wines from across the Vipava Valley on Friday, 10 April, at the Guerila winery.
Program:10. 4. 2026: The event will take place from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM at the Guerila Wine Cellar.
Main event: tastings (4:00 PM–9:00 PM)
From 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, there will be Pinela tastings featuring more than 20 winemakers from the Vipava Valley. This year’s turnout of winemakers will be a record-breaking one.

Masterclass: Pinela – at 5:00 PM
Space is limited, so registration is required. The masterclass is included in the ticket price.
Guided tour of the Guerila winery – additional fee of €10
Tours will take place in three groups: at 3:00 PM, 6:00 PM, and 7:00 PM.
Afterparty (after 9:00 PM)
After 9:00 PM, a relaxed get-together (afterparty) will follow at the Guerila wine bar.

While tasting Pinela, guests can also enjoy a selection of homemade dishes. Local women and winegrowers from Planina delight visitors with authentic treats, lovingly prepared with a contemporary twist. Between tastings, you can join a refreshing guided walk through the surrounding hillside vineyards, and soak up the atmosphere as folk songs echo beneath the great linden tree in the village square.
Socializing with Pinela is organised by the Soudan Society from Planina, an association that brings together local producers.
