Festival of Idrija Žlikrofi: A Culinary Journey into the Heart of Heritage!

Idrija invites you to an unforgettable day dedicated to our greatest culinary star!

On Saturday, August 23, 2025, we will celebrate 15 years since the European protection as a "guaranteed traditional speciality." Get your taste buds ready for a real feast! At the festival, you will be able to try them in more than 30 different ways – from traditional to modern interpretations that will surely impress you!

Borderless becirk: Tastes of Europe in Idrija!

This year, we will expand our culinary journey with the program "Borderless becirk." This means you will have the opportunity to taste related dishes from various parts of Europe and the world! Joining us will be: Italian cjarsoni, Austrian Kärtner Käsenudeln, krajinski vareniki, Russian pelmeni, Japanese gyoze, and of course our local kobariški štruklji and bovški krafi.

This is a unique opportunity to experience the rich diversity of stuffed pasta from around the world in one place!

A full day of events for the whole family!

The Idrija žlikrofi festival offers a full day of events in the pleasant shelter of the tree canopy, by the cool Idrijca river and right at the entrance to the Upper Idrijca Landscape Park. For visitors of all ages, we have prepared:

Fun for children:
Playgrounds and pump track circuit.
Trampolines and a carousel.
MCmobil workshops by the Idrija Youth Center:
Morning creative workshop on žlikrofi (11:00 - 13:00)
Afternoon workshop making themed brooches (14:00 - 17:00)

Music program:
In the evening, live music will be provided by the gangster rapper Small Tokk from Goriška, followed by DJ Rekordman (italo disco, yugo funk).
During the day, DJ Rekordman (funk, soul) and Suhu Cvetje will entertain you.

UNESCO heritage visit: Take the opportunity to visit the nearby Idrija mercury mine and other UNESCO World Heritage sites.
