The Grand Escape 2025 Italy/Slovenia

A unique cross-border cycling adventure connecting the beauty of Slovenia and Italy on a 600-kilometre route.

The Grand Escape 2025 is part of the Bike Adventure Series, Europe's first road bikepacking series. This unique cross-border adventure connects Italy and Slovenia through a carefully crafted 600km route with 7,400m of elevation gain. The journey takes us through the historic cities of Nova Gorica and Gorizia, symbols of European unity where two cultures seamlessly blend. Participants will discover the rich cultural heritage of both regions while riding along emerald rivers, through enchanted forests, and on scenic cycle paths. The route showcases the best of both countries: from the hills of Italian Friuli-Venezia Giulia to Slovenia's majestic Triglav National Park and the stunning Soča Valley. As a no-race format event starting 21 June 2025, cyclists can explore the route at their own pace, making it perfect for both experienced bikepackers and newcomers to long-distance cycling. The event emphasizes cultural immersion and sustainable tourism, allowing participants to fully experience local hospitality and traditions along the way.
