The project is based on stories of Slovenian emigrants to other continents.
The project is based on stories of Slovenian emigrants to other continents, especially to Australia and Argentina. Among the first to emigrate were people from the Primorska region. Some fled along the torrent of the Pečno Park, through bracken and over the roots of hornbeams and oaks.
Through these stories, the performance explores the relationship to home, the formation of identity, and belonging to a community. “What is home, if not the first place you flee from?” (T. Avguštin). The performance includes excerpts from the book Between Happiness and Freedom by Breda Čebulj-Sajko, as well as quotes from emigrants and those who remained.
The number of seats is LIMITED, so you must reserve your ticket in advance for the premiere or a later performance by emailing: rezervacije.ladje@gmail.com.
Please include your name, surname, date of the performance, and the number of tickets you wish to reserve. Reservations are free of charge. Voluntary contributions will be accepted at the event and will go towards funding further performances.
As the performance takes place in the forest and evenings can be chilly, we recommend appropriate clothing and footwear (+ insect repellent).
In case of rain, the event will be postponed.
