Presentation: Diadokhè

Presentation: Diadokhè

Διαδοχή (Diadokhḗ) from ancient Greek: succession, passing on of inheritance, transmission of knowledge - A journey from the mouth to the source of the River Soča between rural and urban, past and present, between the children of yesterday and those of today.

The event intends to present the launch of this anthropological and artistic project, which aims to make a short film on the relationship between man and nature along the river Isonzo, starting from the mouth and going up towards the source.

Through the stories of elders, the short film intends to convey the contents of a wise and vital culture to young people, stimulating trans-generational and multidisciplinary debates.

The project also aims to enhance the artistic-cultural and environmental heritage of the territories bordering the Soča river.

The filming and the collection of testimonies and iconographic material will involve a total of 12 locations, situated in 11 municipalities, 6 Italian and 5 Slovenian: Staranzano, San Canzian d'Isonzo, San Pier d'Isonzo, Sagrado, Gradisca d'Isonzo, Gorizia, Nova Gorica, Solkan (a fraction of Nova Gorica), Kanal, Tolmin, Kobarid, Bovec.

During the presentation, the artists Marco Schiavon, Haseena Barbana (School of Peace Fvg) and Ingrid Macus (cultural association Perifigi) will illustrate their professional background and intentions with respect to the project in question.

We welcome people who are curious and willing to collaborate in the realisation of this short film through their testimony in the form of a video-interview or by sharing their private archive of photos and film/video clips.
