Pinela get-together

On Easter Monday, you will have the chance to enjoy tasting the diversity of the special Vipava wine variety, Pinela, which has chosen Planina as its home!

On Easter Monday, on 21 April 2025, from 16:00, you are invited to a tasting of the many pinelas from the entire Vipava Valley. Until 20:00, you will be able to enjoy the variety of this special Vipava sort, which has chosen Planina as its home!

For almost two decades, the Planina winegrowers have been organising an event dedicated to the indigenous Vipava variety of pinela, which thrives best on the hills of the Planina. It is its home here, closer to the sun, with its roots high above the Vipava River and the wind blowing through the saplings, facing the sea. As Planina is the first home of this special Vipava sort, this year we are also organising a feast dedicated to it. 

We started in 2006, when the format of the event was a guided tasting of pinelas with expert lectures, and we can say that we have probably organised the first masterclass in Slovenia. Later on, the event turned into a festival-type event, with pinela growers from all over the Vipava Valley coming to participate. The programme has always been enriched with culinary workshops, where we have paired pinelas with different dishes. Over the years, we have also held an exhibition on pinela, screened a number of films, and organised a walk among the vineyards. The event was always accompanied by a rich cultural programme and delicious homemade Easter dishes, always prepared by the Planina winemakers.
