OPENING OF THE EXHIBITION "Dove il Sì suona" - A Journey Through the Italian Language

‘Where Yes Sounds’ - A Journey Through the Italian Language (exhibition open from 8 to 30 October 2025) Opening Wednesday, 8 October - 5 p.m.
The Dante Alighieri Society, which has been promoting and spreading Italian language and culture around the world for years, wanted to set up this travelling exhibition in Nova Gorica, on the occasion of the European Capital of Culture 2025.
'Where the Yes Sounds' Journey through the Italian Language is the title of an exhibition on the history of the Italian language, illustrating its various aspects and evolution over the centuries: from its relationship with Latin to that with the great modern languages of culture, from its close link with literature to its use in cinema, music and art.
In this way, visitors will be able to engage directly with a seemingly abstract theme such as language: many visitors will discover that Italian can be explored through the autographs of great authors such as Boccaccio and Manzoni, as well as through films, music and newspapers.
The exhibition will be supplemented by material provided by the library and displayed in special showcases (Italian texts translated into Slovenian) and by two concluding panels dedicated to the relationship between the Italian and Slovenian languages.
