MANAGERS' DAY 2025 – Humanity in the Age of Technology

MANAGERS' DAY 2025 – Humanity in the Age of Technology

How can we preserve our humanity in a world where technology is taking over more and more tasks? We will seek the answers at the first Managers’ Day 2025, taking place on 4 September 2025, at FUDŠ in Nova Gorica.

The event will be an opportunity for everyone who wishes to understand how to combine strategic leadership with an empathetic approach and to gain practical guidance for tackling the challenges of the digital age.

The event will begin with registration at 9:00, when participants will have the opportunity for morning coffee and networking. This will be followed at 9:15 by the welcome address delivered by:

  • Prof. Dr. Borut Rončević, Dean of FUDŠ
  • Brigita Habjan Štolfa, Director of the Northern Primorska Chamber of Commerce (GZS SPGZ), Chair of the FUDŠ Board of Trustees

9:30–11:00 – Keynote lecture by Dr. Alenka Žnidaršič Kranjc, PhD in Economics, entrepreneur, and one of the most influential businesswomen in Slovenia.
She will present the topic: "Lead with Head and Heart: The Mindful Manager in Times of Digital Change."

Participants will learn:

  • how to combine "head" (strategy, data) and "heart" (empathy, authenticity) in everyday leadership,
  • how to overcome digital fatigue, uncertainty, and burnout,
  • why the mindful manager with conscious presence is the best role model for the team,
  • which future competencies are essential and how FUDŠ study programs (Social Management, Intercultural Management, Management) prepare leaders for the challenges of the future.

11:00–11:15 – Coffee break and informal discussion.

11:15–12:00 – Panel discussion
Topic: "Professions of the Future: Social and Intercultural Manager – Is Your Organization Ready?" The discussion will feature guests from academia, business, and HR associations:

  • Assoc. Prof. Dr. Petra Kleindienst – Vice-Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, FUDŠ
  • Igor Novak – Head of HR, Alpacem
  • Anisa Faganelj – President of the HR Association of Northern Primorska
  • Boštjan Polanec – FUDŠ student
  • Moderated by Brigita Habjan Štolfa.

Participants will discover:

  • why social and intercultural managers are becoming key profiles of the future,
  • which soft skills (empathy, intercultural literacy, emotional intelligence) are the greatest competitive advantage,
  • how organizations can prepare for the future and how FUDŠ programs respond to labor market needs.

12:00–12:15 – Relaxation technique: A Moment for Yourself presented by Emil Karajić, Head of the School of Psychosocial Support and Counseling, who will introduce a simple yet effective relaxation technique for managing thoughts, maintaining inner stability and clarity – a valuable skill for the modern leader.

A special feature of the event will be the Book Giving Corner, where more than 1,500 books from various fields will be available – an excellent opportunity for personal and professional growth.

The event is intended for managers, entrepreneurs, HR professionals, academics, and all those who wish to preserve human connection in the digital age. Participation is free of charge, but places are limited, so early registration is recommended.
