Lunatico Festival GO 25 - Frontiers of the Lunatics

Lunatico Festival GO 25 - Frontiers of the Lunatics

Lunatico Festival GO 25 - Frontiers of the Lunatics. The Lunatico Festival GO returns to Gorizia with three days dedicated to culture, sports, and, of course, music.

This edition thus recounts the evolution of black music, through a shared vision that places its cultures at the center: from hip hop celebrated in all four of its disciplines—DJing, MCing, breakdancing, and writing—to the day dedicated to offbeat rhythms, enhanced by the scenic and picturesque presence of sound systems, the beating heart of the reggae and dub tradition.

LUNATICO FESTIVAL GO 25 - Frontiers of the Lunatics 28, 29 and 30 August 2025 (GORIZIA)

The countdown has begun!

Lunatico Festival GO 25 - Frontiere dei Lunatici returns to Gorizia with three days dedicated to culture, sports, and, of course, music.

Collina Società Cooperativa Sociale, with the support of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia and the Carigo Foundation, and under the patronage of the Municipality of Gorizia, is pleased to present the program for the three-day festival, which will take place on August 28, 29, and 30, 2025. As usual, the festival will offer a mix of cultural events, focusing on social inclusion and cultural regeneration.

This year, too, the heart of the event will be Basaglia Park, a symbolic place in Gorizia and the scene of Basaglia's cultural revolution.

The first new feature this year concerns the specific location: the event will be held in the area adjacent to the gym, thus integrating the sporting events with the shows.

The 2025 edition will be the richest ever, spread over three days, each characterized by a specific artistic identity.

This year, musical genres and cultures intertwine in a coherent journey, uniting distinct expressions yet connected by common roots. This edition thus chronicles the evolution of black music through a shared vision that places its cultures at the center: from hip hop, celebrated in all four disciplines—DJing, MCing, breakdancing, and writing—to a day dedicated to upbeat rhythms, enhanced by the scenic and picturesque presence of sound systems, the beating heart of the reggae and dub tradition.

It begins on Thursday, August 28th at 4:00 pm with the debate organized in collaboration with LEGACOOP FVG: Cultural Welfare: a model of well-being and health. This will be a useful opportunity to discuss art and cultural heritage as drivers of well-being for individuals and the community, but above all, the opportunity to develop structured national policies.

At 5 pm, a significant moment of sharing through sport will follow: the second edition of the David De Carli Memorial basketball tournament, organized by Polisportiva 2001, ASD Mine Vaganti Gorizia, and ASD Dinamo Gorizia, will take place after the success of last year.

The tournament will be accompanied by a live DJ set from ANTICA LUDOTECA RITMICA, who will also perform at 9:00 pm during the tournament awards ceremony.

The festival will continue on Friday, August 29th, with a morning event: starting at 10:00 am, the workshop The Value of Waste: Flag Workshop for Marco Cavallo's Journey will take place.

Sartoria Sociale will host a workshop dedicated to creating flags from fabric scraps, designed to symbolically accompany Marco Cavallo's journey through Italy's mental health centers.

On this journey, organized by the National Health Forum, waste becomes flags: symbols of justice, dignity, and rights.

Starting at 5 pm, the interactive guided tours of Itinerari Basagliani return to discover the park and its history through QR codes and multimedia content.

This year, in addition to the historical itinerary, a new itinerary called Society has been introduced, featuring video content created in collaboration with leading artists.

The first themed day will take place in the late afternoon, dedicated to HIP HOP and a return to its roots.

Hip hop culture, composed of four distinct disciplines, originated in the late 1970s in the United States. It revolutionized the music market and left a profound mark on the streets, giving voice to often excluded generations and transforming urban language into a global expression.

The first discipline offered, starting at 6 pm, will be writing: Panel Bombing: the art of graffiti will be a workshop dedicated to the art of spray painting, an open-air laboratory with prestigious guests and panels available to anyone who wants to try their hand at this extraordinary art.

The music will start at 8:30 pm with the art of breakdance, in fact the bboys of S3T FLOW will perform, accompanied by the musical performance of RICKY ZASE, who will continue with a very personal DJ Live Set at 9:15 pm leaving the microphone free for anyone who wants to demonstrate the art of freestyle.

It will be the turn of the main guest of the day: at 10.30 pm ADRIANA will perform, an extraordinary rapper and singer who boasts collaborations with names such as DJ Shocca, Low Kidd (Machete) and Inoki.

With a personal and engaging style, since 2021 he has brought his project to stages of all sizes, building a direct relationship with the audience.

After more than 35 dates in 2023, in 2024 he will debut on a European tour, with stops at international festivals such as Sziget (Budapest), Colours of Ostrava and Ciao Moka (Marseille).

On Saturday, August 30th, the Lunatic Frontiers will open for a grand day of celebration, concluding with the second and final themed day.

After the second appointment with the BASAGLIANI ITINERARIES visits starting at 5 pm, it will be the turn of REGGAE and DUB.

Born in Jamaica in the 1960s and 1970s, these musical languages have traversed the world, becoming the soundtrack of social issues, spirituality, and resistance, bringing with them a sonic culture of deep bass, hypnotic echoes, and sound systems that transform space into a collective experience.

Starting at 7:30 PM, DELTA DUB with SGRASAY SOUND SYSTEM will be hosting, bringing deep sounds with their colorful sound system; Sgrasay Sound System is a collective united by a passion for reggae and dub.

The collaboration with Delta Dub dates back to 2023 and has since become ongoing.

Their union led to the release of the song Our first box with lyrics by Mad John.

They have participated in various festivals including Viva Fest, Fiestate, Paradise Dub and Festintenda on the bill with national and international artists such as Paolo Baldini, Vibronics, Skarra Mucci, Alpha Steppa, Dub Judah and many others.

At 9.00 pm it will be the turn of FREEDOM FIGHTERS, a reggae and bass music collective active since 2007, based in Koper (Slovenia).

Founded by Ras Marino and Selecta U-re, it represents the heart of the Jamcoast Sound System – the first self-built reggae sound system in Northern Istria.

Rooted in tradition but with an eye to the future, they bring their music and messages beyond borders.

They will be the ones to introduce and support the last guest of the evening: at 10:00 pm it will be the turn of LION D, an Italian-Nigerian artist born in London and raised in Italy, one of the most authentic voices of European reggae.

Always tied to the spiritual and social dimensions of the genre, he transformed his passion into an international career, collaborating with figures such as Alborosie, Ken Boothe, Capleton and Busy Signal.

With a rich and varied production – between roots, soul, r'n'b and rock influences – Lion D has performed on international stages in Europe and beyond, promoting a vision of reggae as a tool for identity, resistance and awareness.
