E for Europe—On the paths of Europe

"E for Europe" arrives at the northern border of Friuli Venezia Giulia. It will be a journey through nature, history, and art along Europe’s borders.
The cross-border route of the cultural project "E for Europe", which combines art, nature, and the memory of border areas, continues as part of the official program of the European Capital of Culture 2025 Nova Gorica - Gorizia.
The project, conceived and promoted by the organization vicino / lontano and the social promotion association Get Up, is carried out in collaboration with Slovenian and Italian partners—ZRC SAZU, Bottega Errante, the Walk of Peace Foundation, Centro Studi, the Nediža Study Center, Radio Onde Furlane, En-Knap Ljubljana, and Lendhauer–Verein zur Belebung des Lendkanals—with the support of GO! 2025 and the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
The next stop will take place on Sunday, 31 August, at Cason di Lanza (Paularo), a picturesque location between Italy and Austria, rich in biodiversity, history, and legends. By visiting symbolic places such as Topolò, Cividale del Friuli, Cormons, and Grado, the journey leads into the heart of the Carnic Alps, a landscape shaped over centuries by exchanges, conflicts, and encounters.
The programme will start at 16:45 with a gathering at Agriturismo Malga Cason di Lanza. At 17:00, participants will embark on a circular walk of about two hours through forests, pastures, and ruins, guided by Fides Banelli and Ireno Sandri, experts in local nature and culture. They will lead participants through a vivid narrative of biodiversity, smugglers’ tales, and old battles. After a refreshment at 19:30 (payable with prior reservation at +39 3281547471), the evening will continue with the performance "On the paths of Europe".
Participation is free of charge and open to everyone.
Dinner is payable and requires a reservation. Overnight accommodation is also available at the agritourism facility with prior booking at +39 3488206505 or via email at casondilanza@gmail.com
