Between Light, Sound, and Space: "Colour Conducting" Meets "Performing Micro-Acoustic Architecture".
On 18 June 2025 at 20:30 an exhibition/performance by Mirko Malle and Marko Arich will be on view at Xcenter.
When painting transforms into music and sound inspires architecture into harmony, an experiential artistic space emerges—beyond disciplinary boundaries. The joint project by Mirko Malle and Marko Arich brings together two independent artistic worlds in a transdisciplinary dialogue about perception, movement, and immersion.
With his concept "Colour Conducting", Mirko Malle creates synesthetic visual compositions in which painting, light, and music merge into an animated, unified form. His works function as color-rhythmic portraits of musical compositions, brought to life by programmed light pulses. Unlike digital visualizations, Colour Conducting relies on painterly, individual interpretations—visual scores that reveal poetic depth through their light dramaturgy. The work Spheric Harmonies represents an early milestone in this development.
Marko Arich, through his project "Performing Micro-Acoustic Architecture", explores the sonic potential of space. Using an electric guitar, a self-designed portable amplification system, and delicate feedback loops, he acoustically investigates architectural spaces and translates them into performative dialogues. The specific resonance of each space becomes the starting point for an improvised sonic fabric that continually transforms with the movement of performers and audience. A microscopic sound space emerges—alive, fragile, and physically perceptible.
Together, these two artistic positions form a dynamic artistic system—electroacoustic images in which light, color, architecture, and sound touch, intertwine, and amplify one another. The audience is invited to actively cross into this experiential realm—a deep, immersive play between seeing, listening, and sensing space.
