Anja Medved: Memory as a Work of Art

Anja Medved: Memory as a Work of Art

Presentation of the artwork of June and the sixth chapter of the Episkop.

On Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at 19:00, Knjigarna kavarna Maks will host the presentation of the Artwork of the Month and the sixth chapter of the Episkop project.

The June Artwork of the Month is a film piece, derived from a documentary scene. A documentary can become a work of art when created with artistic intent—just like a memory, which can gain the status of an artwork within the right context. Filmmaker Anja Medved will discuss the creative processes of evoking, recording, and archiving memories in conversation with art historian Klavdija Figelj. The evening will open with sociologist Mirjam Milharčič Hladnik and historian Aleksej Kalc, who will introduce the June program and the content of Episkop’s sixth chapter, entitled A Walk Through Migrations in the Goriška Region.

Participants: filmmaker Anja Medved, art historian Klavdija Figelj, sociologist Mirjam Milharčič Hladnik (ZRC SAZU), and historian Aleksej Kalc.

The event will be held in Slovene with simultaneous interpretation into Italian.

The event is part of the official GO! 2025 programme.
