GORIZIA IN THE HEART. The donation of Sergio Tavano's archive and book fund

In occasione del novantasettesimo compleanno del compianto professor Sergio Tavano (1928-2025), il 13 marzo, l'Archivio di Stato di Gorizia e la Biblioteca Statale Isontina, in collaborazione con la Fondazione Palazzo Coronini Cronberg, organizzano un incontro pubblico nel corso del quale sarà presentata la donazione dell'archivio personale e della biblioteca di Sergio Tavano, destinati, rispettivamente, ai due Istituti sopra menzionati.

Un gesto che attesta la stima e la considerazione che l'illustre studioso ha nutrito nei confronti di due presidî statali di quella cultura goriziana da lui tanto studiata e divulgata e che diviene l'occasione per ricordare, ad un mese dalla scomparsa, il legame speciale che univa Sergio Tavano a Gorizia, alla sua arte e alla sua storia senza confini.

Accanto ai saluti dei rappresentanti della famiglia, di Luca Caburlotto e di Marco Plesnicar per il Ministero della Cultura, è previsto l'intervento di Alessandro Quinzi, conservatore dei Musei Provinciali di Gorizia, che accennerà alcuni caratteri proprî della pluridecennale attività scientifica di Tavano.
Successivamente, a ciascuno degli intervenuti, sarà offerta l'opportunità di condividere, con i presenti, un ricordo personale centrato sulla figura dell'intellettuale recentemente scomparso.

On the occasion of the ninety-seventh birthday of the late Professor Sergio Tavano (1928-2025), on 13 March, theState Archives of Gorizia and the Isontina State Library, in collaboration with the Palazzo Coronini Cronberg Foundation, are organising a public meeting during which the donation of Sergio Tavano's personal archive and library, respectively destined for the two above-mentioned institutions, will be presented.

This gesture testifies to the esteem and consideration that the illustrious scholar nurtured towards two state presidia of the Gorizian culture that he studied and disseminated so much, and it becomes an occasion to recall, a month after his death, the special bond that united Sergio Tavano to Gorizia, to its art and its borderless history.

In addition to the greetings of the family representatives, Luca Caburlotto and Marco Plesnicar for the Ministry of Culture, Alessandro Quinzi, curator of the Provincial Museums of Gorizia, will speak about some of the characteristics of Tavano's decades of scientific activity.

Afterwards, each of the speakers will be offered the opportunity to share a personal memory centred on the figure of the recently deceased intellectual.
