The Route of the 44 Votive Churches | Stage 1 Cividale - Tiglio
This event will take place in Italian Change language into Italian!

Ring in 10 stages from Cividale del Friuli to the Natisone Valleys Stage 1 Cividale - Tiglio With this first stage we begin the route of the 44 Votive Churches that stage by stage will lead us to complete the Path.

For this exceptional occasion in the 10 stages you will be accompanied by those who conceived the Way. From Cividale we ascend the left bank of the Natisone River along the Alpe Adria Trail to Purgessimo.

At Ponte San Quirino we admire the magnificent gorge of the Natisone. At Vernasso we will see the first small church, dedicated to St. Bartholomew, then continue on to San Pietro al Natisone.

From here we will take the variant for Clenia to reach the small church of Sant'Antonio Abate. Along the valley floor we pass the small church of Sorzento and Ponteacco and conclude the stage at Tiglio.

Programme: 9.00 a.m. Meeting at the Christian Museum of Cividale del Friuli with a short visit to the Museum and departure 16.00 Return to Cividale by means provided by the organisation.

Route: The route runs along a road and path, is 14.6 km long with a difference in height of approximately 200 m.

The route is not difficult, but a minimum of trekking training is required.

The route is not circular and the return from Tiglio to Cividale will be by an 8-seater minibus.

We recommend leaving your car in the free car park at Cividale station and walking to the Christian Museum.
