From 1930, when Daniele Venica purchased the main part of the winery, to the present day,
more than 95 years have passed, during which four
generations of his family have harmoniously succeeded one another in managing the business.
Nearly a century of history marked by a dedication to carrying on the legacy of the past and to
respect for this land, its vineyards, and its grapes.
The winery’s growth gained particular momentum in the 1970s when, beginning in
1972, the Venicas—among the first in Friuli—began selling their
white and red wines directly from their premises; until then, these wines had been destined for sale to taverns and trattorias in the Gorizia and
Cividale areas.
In 1976, Gianni Venica discovered and began using the white winemaking process, and the following year,
Venica wines were bottled for the first time. The 1980s were marked by intense
export activity and the opening of the first phase of the agritourism facility.
Currently, the Venica&Venica estate spans 40 hectares of vineyards, all within the Collio DOC
region, and, depending on the season and harvest, produces approximately 300,000 bottles per year.
Over 85% are white wines—with Ronco delle Mele and Ronco delle Cime among the most award-winning and
highly regarded—and the remaining 15% are reds.
More than 65% of Venica wines are sold in Italy, while the rest are exported to many
countries, including the United States, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
