Verde Capitale 2026

The large-scale event dedicated to environmental heritage and sustainability returns to Gorizia, with a packed calendar of over thirty events, including nature walks, treasure hunts, exhibitions, and tastings in the city's restaurants.

Gorizia celebrates its extraordinary natural heritage with the second edition of Verde Capitale , the major environmental event organized by the Municipality as part of the GO! 2025 legacy. Under the slogan “City of parks and bees.

"From biodiversity to a changing climate. Gorizia enters the future," the event transforms the city into an open-air stage with over thirty events designed to showcase its excellence and address the crucial issues of climate change.

The program offers a wide range of guided walks, cultural events, and exhibitions, alongside the involvement of universities and local experts to illustrate strategies for urban regeneration and biodiversity protection.

Highlights include an engaging treasure hunt dedicated to resilient plants, special visits to the chestnut grove on Via Franconia with chestnut picking, and tours to discover the botanical and geological wonders of the Castle and the Viatori Garden.

Over the weekend, the event will also involve the city's network with tastings of "honey cicchetti" in participating establishments and wellness treatments based on beehive products.

The official opening is scheduled for Tuesday, October 13th at 5:00 PM at Palazzo Coronini Cronberg, kicking off an unmissable six-day event for nature and culture enthusiasts.
