The End of Mediterranea 20—Young Artists Biennial

The End of Mediterranea 20—Young Artists Biennial

Mediterranea 20 – Young Artists Biennial will finish today.

You are cordially invited to the closing event of the Young Artists Biennial of Europe and the Mediterranean. The event will begin with remarks by the biennial’s curators, Tia Čiček and Misal Adnan Yıldız, followed by a presentation of Schizofag, a poetry collection set to music by Pino Pograjc, and Lines, a sculptural work by Stefano Ventilii.

In a confessional tone, Pograjc explores queerness, mental illness, and personal struggles. Accompanied by illustrations by Maja Poljanc and design by Gal Grobovšek, the work offers a unique voice reflecting the fragmentation of psychosis. The poetic performance was created in collaboration with Jaka Brgs.

Ventilii’s site-specific installation (pictured) responds to the space it inhabits. The artwork develops around the element of the line, tracing curves through the air and forming contours in a three-dimensional drawing that engages with its surroundings.

The event is supported by the Hopscotch project, included in the official programme of the European Capital of Culture 2025 Nova Gorica - Gorizia.
