The Day of Borderless Festivals

European Capital of Culture 2025 Nova Gorica - Gorizia will bring together the Festival of Crafts and Entrepreneurship, Tastes without Borders, the Rose Festival, the Festival of Amateur Culture and the announcement of the winners of the Entrepreneurial Wine 2025 competition as part of the Day of Borderless Festivals.

The borderless Europe Square will be the place where entrepreneurship, amateur culture and local cuisine will meet tomorrow, 8 May, since 11:00. The March for Europe, the second mass event of the ECoC, will include four festivals in one: the Festival of Crafts and Entrepreneurship, Tastes without Borders, the Rose Festival and the Festival of Amateur Culture, and the announcement of the winners of the Entrepreneurial Wine 2025 competition. The united event, called the Day of Borderless Festivals, is organised alongside the ECoC by the Chamber of Crafts and Enterprise of Nova Gorica in cooperation with the Nova Gorica and Vipava Valley Tourism Board and local amateur associations.

The festival will take place in all weathers and visitors can expect numerous stalls, workshops for children and live music with performances by local clubs, folklore, majorette and oriental groups, combined choirs, a Gong Orchestra with singer Emma Marušič and entertainment by Vili Resnik. The culinary event Tastes without Borders will also take place throughout the day, where there will be no shortage of delicious food and drink, and no shortage of Goriška gnocchi.

• 11:00–12:00: The Earth has the Flu – an eco-fairy-tale hour with members of the Goriška Literary Club GOvoRICA,
• 11:00–13:00: Art workshops for children,
• 11:00–23:00: Tastes without Borders – presentation of local caterers and winemakers,
• 11:00–19:00: Festival of Crafts and Entrepreneurship – presentation of craftsmen and entrepreneurs,
• 13:00: Opening and presentation of the Day of Borderless Festivals programme,
• 13:20: Presentation of plaques to the winners of the Entrepreneurial Wine 2025 competition,
• 14:00: Steps without Borders – performances by local clubs,
• 16:00: 5th Poetry Knows No Borders Literary Festival,
• 17:30: Folklore, majorette and oriental dance groups perform,
• 18:30: Performance of the United Choirs,
• 19:00: Closing of the Day of Amateur Culture with the awarding of prizes by the Federation of Cultural Associations of Slovenia,
• 19:30: GONG Orchestra with singer Ema Marušič,
• 20:00: Party with Vili Resnik.
