Strong women in culture: the power of words and performance

On International Women's Day, we invite you to an evening of contemporary art dedicated to female artists who explore the political and aesthetic power of artistic expression through performance, poetry, and music.

Evening programme:

Nina Dragičević and Anja Novak – a performative essay with excerpts from the book Nemogoče (Impossible), which intertwines literature, sound and critical thought through a hybrid form.

Muzikačaka (Sara Korošec) – a musical-performative performance that uses a looper to layer live vocals, electronics, psychedelic synths, and field recordings. The result is a soundscape that combines avant-pop, poetic narration, trance loops, and ambient textures.

The evening concludes with a conversation with the artists, moderated by researcher Kristina Pranjić, which raises questions about the power of female artistic expression, the emancipatory potential of art, and persistence in the public sphere.

The event co-creates a space where art is not just an expression, but an act of presence.

The event is organized by the Mink Tolmin Association in collaboration with the European Capital of Culture Nova Gorica - Gorica.
