Stregna Open Air Cinema

On Friday, August 28, the lawn of the multipurpose hall in Stregna will host the closing event of "Cinema Isonzo - Kino Soča," a cross-border initiative bringing outdoor screenings to the most evocative locations along the Italo-Slovenian border. This free-admission evening offers a valuable opportunity for cultural sharing within an exceptional natural setting.

The itinerant "Cinema Isonzo - Kino Soča" project, organized by Kinoatelje alongside key institutional partners, reaches its symbolic destination in the Natisone Valleys, highlighting cinema’s power to transform geopolitical borders into spaces of interaction and mutual dialogue. Hosted in collaboration with the Institute for Slovenian Culture and the Municipality of Stregna, the evening will feature the screening of Gregor Božič's award-winning masterpiece, Stories from the Chestnut Woods. The film serves as a profound poetic meditation on memory and landscape, themes that resonate deeply with the local identity of these borderlands.

The double appointment of the itinerant "Cinema Isonzo–Kino Soča" in Stregna / Srednje will continue on Saturday, August 29, at 8:30 PM, with the screening of There's Still Tomorrow (C'è ancora domani) by Paola Cortellesi. This film stands as one of the greatest successes of contemporary Italian cinema, having captivated audiences with a perspective that is simultaneously intense, witty, and deeply social.

In the event of inclement weather, the screening will be relocated inside the L. Cernetig multipurpose hall, ensuring the seamless execution of a cultural initiative central to regional integration.
