Storie di confine / Border Stories

Storie di confine / Border Stories

As part of Nova Gorica–Gorizia European Capital of Culture, the Feltrinelli Foundation, in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Sport of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia and GECT GO/EZTS GO, presents BORDER STORIES / STORIE DI CONFINE.

The first event, in Gorizia, will focus on the theme of the Political Border: no longer considered a dividing line between states, but a symbolic and concrete place where identities, belonging, and forms of citizenship are redefined.

The meeting aims to transcend the concept of borders as barriers, transforming them into a laboratory of solidarity and shared responsibility.

The initiative proposes an innovative interpretation of borders: no longer merely geographical or social boundaries, but dynamic and open spaces capable of stimulating creativity, cultural growth, coexistence, and social sustainability, enhancing the memories and complex identities of border territories.

The project includes a series of traveling meetings with internationally renowned speakers, scheduled between February and May in Gorizia, Pordenone, Udine, and Trieste. The event will be accompanied by an international journalism award for four reports that demonstrate how cross-border relations can drive inclusion, innovation, and cooperation.
