Shining, Invisible, Liminal
On Wednesday, 11 March 2026 at 18:00 we invite you to a discussion on architecture and urbanism at Maks.
By weaving together two recent research projects from Slovenia and Italy – the exhibition Shining Invisible City, curated by the Nonument Group and by the architect Eva Sušnik, held in Nova Gorica in the context of the ECC, and the doctoral research Liminal Architecture. Enduring experimentation on the threshold between Gorizia and Nova Gorica by the architect Valentina Rodani developed in the University of Trieste and of Ljubljana and recently awarded and published – the event intends to build a bilingual dialogue through words, projects and images to interrogate affinities and divergences of the architecture of Nova Gorica and Gorizia.
Architectures as much shining/brilliant and invisible as liminal, unrealised, unfinished, realised by fragments if not destroyed or compromised, which offer a lens to reflect on the limits and the potentialities of thinking architecture across borders, re-reading its past and questioning the future, starting from the Goritian conurbation between Slovenia and Italy to engage to the rest of the world.
