Public Event "Air Quality in the Goriška territory"

Public Event "Air Quality in the Goriška territory"

How clean is the air we really breathe in the Goriška region? How does air quality affect our health and everyday life?

These questions will be answered at the public event "Air Quality in the Gorizia Region," which will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 12:30 to 15:30, at the Xcentr in Nova Gorica. Registration for the event: via the online form ( https://forms.gle/mWJNZm6nMAFkKK8aA ) by February 6, 2026.

Air quality is a particularly important issue for the local environment during the heating season, when pollutant emissions increase due to heating and traffic, and the situation is often worse than we imagine.

The European Union is gradually tightening its limit values for air pollutants, raising questions about future obligations and the measures needed, including at the local level.

During the event, experts will present the latest data on air quality in the Solkan area, the state of air quality in Slovenia, and the impact of the broader cross-border area on our air.

The discussion will also focus on the impacts of polluted air on human health, the projects and measures already underway, and how we can contribute together to creating a healthier living environment.

Particular attention will be paid to the proper functioning of small combustion devices and the possibilities of financial incentives that can reduce environmental impact and, at the same time, reduce costs.

It will also be possible to follow the event remotely via live streaming (the link will be published later).

The project is implemented by: National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ), University of Nova Gorica (UNG), Environmental Agency of the Republic of Slovenia (ARSO), ARPA FVG, Dovrtel Systems, GOLEA
