POSEIDON'S PUNISHMENT

On Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 7:00 PM, the EPIC Gallery in Nova Gorica will host the opening of the exhibition "Poseidon's Punishment," a scientific and artistic research project dedicated to the life cycle of microplastics and their impact on the environment.

The exhibition, a collaboration between several cross-border organizations and the international GLOBE program, will subsequently remain open to the public.
 
Promoted by the Brida Institute with the support of the Municipality of Nova Gorica, the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, and in collaboration with the GO! 2025 team, the "Pozejdonove muke" project represents the culmination of years of research developed by the GLOBE Italia association.
 
The exhibition addresses the crucial issue of the breakdown of plastic into invisible fragments and their persistence in living organisms, integrating data from the international Microplastics Monitoring Protocol (MMP). developed in Australia.
 
The exhibition itinerary combines the scholastic scientific investigation with the artistic section MICROPLA SC/Art , where the ecological drama is reinterpreted through the languages of contemporary art.
 
The central figure and underlying theme of the entire narrative is the god of the sea Poseidon, an anthropomorphic symbol of the suffering caused to water by a pervasive and too often invisible form of pollution.
